Evi is like Siri on the iPhone 4S. Available for Android and other iPhone devices running iOS 4.0 or later, it does the same tricks, such as showing you coffee shops nearby when you speak or type "coffee," or providing the traditional answer "42" when you ask it for the meaning of life. Facebook hogged tech headlines this week with news that it was pushing its Timeline to all users and will IPO next week. But while the 800-million-person social network was making news, there were also worthwhile launches from great startup apps that you might have missed.
